I've heard it said by some that "B"
level players just ain't got what it takes to provide a crowd of spectators with
excitement but you would not have guessed it by the crowd reactions to some of
the shots and gets the "B's" executed during the first such tournament
that's been covered here on the Historic Garfield Street Paddleball Courts'
unofficial website.
FYI, many of the "Killer B's" are on
the Courts almost every day of the week. These are the guys that come
out when it's cold or in the stifling heat of summer. These are the
players out there playing "wet-ball" just after summer rains. Ask
anyone of them why and you may get varying answers but the overall feeling
you'll get is that they love the game.
March 18, 2006, then was one helluva day for the
"Killer B's" as they had their own show and came out like they always
do. Lobs were floatin', wise-cracks were flyin' and and everyone had a blast, competing almost for the fun of doing so-
and of course, "bragging rights."
Many thanks go out to Andy Here and all who
participated in this fun event! Congratulations to Paulie and Vinny on winning
top dawg honors and trophies and to Mike and Chris for their runner up places
and cool tee's. Pictures? Yeah, I got 'em! Below are thumbnails
of pics taken that day. Click on one to view the full size picture, hit the
