More? An All-Ladies "Big Blue" game on the "A" Court? I
got the pics to prove it! November 11, 2006 .
Cravin' for a little paddleball aerobicise (yeah, I made the word
up!) while
in Ft Lauderdale? Holiday Park has 3 wall racquetball courts- but also a
nice tennis practice wall down at the nearby tennis center.
If they'd only
put some official tennis ball paddleball lines they'd be awesome courts! Check
it out! Ok, so it's not a feature- but I've got pics of that new
"killer" paddle Wally's working on! Not a hole on it! See
the paddle!! And
of course, I get my 2 cents in about
everything from keeping in touch to CPQ Cup Finals to the
HandballCity.com.me site. That place is too cool!-
Do you play or like to watch racquetball? There'll be a shoot-out Dec.16 at
Holiday Park in Ft Lauderdale. Click here for

Remember the days of Spaldines, broomsticks and skinned knees? Angelo's
6th Annual Block Party brought it all back with their Stickball

Off-on-off again- CPQ
pulls the plug on the July 29-30 Tournament. Yeah, of course I have
comments! Peruvian paddleball? Read about it! Their version's called "Paleta
Fronton" and it's almost a national obsession! I tried it (kind of)

a town of Central Islip, Long Island, N.Y. landmark, the Rec
Center courts. That pic of me with a 'fro was taken there!
-
Yep: The June 10-11 Qualifier tournament was cancelled and I get my 2 cents
in about it. But just because the show on Hollywood Beach was cancelled
doesn't mean there wasn't other wall-sports action to be found around South
Florida. Check the Other
Events section of this site to see coverage of the CPQ
Handball Qualifier III that took place June 3, 2006 at Flamingo Park and

Fans of paddleball are fans no matter what version of
the sport they're watching! and February 11, it was "black-ball"
they were watching at the USPA
South Eastern Nationals Doubles tournament- on the Flamingo Park paddleball
courts in Miami Beach. I was there and got the pics to prove it! Click the
link! Have I got sump'm to say about it? Don't I always? Check out my
2 cents worth.

"Kudos!!" page- Recently, vandals defiled
our Historic Courts and as rumor has it, a certain Historic Courts
"Regular" took it upon himself to paint over all the tags the
miscreants dumped on us. Way to go, Unknown Guy! This page's for YOU!
Also- have you been to the Courts lately? We got lights in the back courts
again! See the newly updated "You're Being Served"
page for details! And that "saggy
fence action" we had going on? It's been repaired! Click the links and email

and features. Here we go!
-
Check out Wally's comments on
his own page on the Web: V.O.I.C.E. In
this most recent entry read about who Wally considers "Paddleball's
Pied Piper," And of course, I get my usual 2 cents in- this
time about CPQ Handball and Paddleball Association's (CPQHPA)
soon-to-be-announced $50 membership fee- and the condition one needs to meet
before playing in tournaments sponsored by them. Want to know more? Go to
the CPQHPA Website and
find out! Be aware it's still being worked on, ok? My new friend, Albert
Apuzzi's been in touch- this guy's been all over and has connections to
handball fans and players everywhere and he's got pictures to prove
it... just follow the link!
Albert's

Welcome to the "MEGA-UPDATED"
Historic Courts unofficial web-site! Mega cuz this latest update covers all kinds
of stuff!! WOOOW!!
is right!!! The World Open Outdoors One Wall Doubles Paddleball
Tournament (WOOOW!! for short) was one event that lived up to its hype! Summer waned away but not before leaving
Katrina
and her cousin, Wilma to come for a fall visit! They
messed up SE FL and the Beach but the regulars still prevailed! Go see
photographic proof! Check out the "new" sport I discovered to pass
the time during those long no-electric afternoons after Wilma hit- "Road
Tennis!" and it's tons of fun! Ping-Pong without a table! Go
figure! The plans for our favorite area of the Beach have been re-thought,
with a little help from Wally and other concerned citizens- Check out the new
improved plans! Hey!
Wally's got
Email and he's
gettin' busy with it!
Go to his V.O.I.C.E. page to see him "going off" with it! What a
word-smith! Handball?
That precursor (for many of us paddleball players) to our sport's alive and
well! See coverage of the $25K CQPHPA invitational
tournament. Whattaya do when you played a tournament the day
before and still have more handball in you? You throw your own
tournament and Historic Courts handball regulars did just that! Go to the 'Ballers
link. And finally, I get my 2 cents in about the WOOOW!!,
about what big money may accomplish for our
favorite sport, and about a "Killer B's"
tournament. Oh, and a pic of my reward
for winning a couple of games one evening. Good incentive, huh?
-
Yeah, I've been away for a few... And while away on
the road in California and Clearwater, FL, I looked for places to play or practice and found
a couple- and
another most unexpected-but-cool way to practice and work up a sweat. Click
the link to see what I found. You can also "Report-a-court" by
emailing us pics and details, directions, etc to any courts you know
of that aren't yet covered here. I also may have found the "Bizarro"
Hollywood Beach- read my comments! Roving camera-geek at it again! So
who was "swabbing"
out the "A" court just one recent evening? Some people will do
anything for a place to play! Click the link to go see!
-
The rumors are true! Now in the hot planning stages: the World Outdoors
Open One Wall Doubles Paddleball Tournament. (WOOOW
!!) to take place on the Historic Courts, November 5th & 6th (6th,
if
needed). A generous sponsor has stepped forward to provide the purse for
this event and by all indications it's going to be a doozy. Our guys are up for the challenge and have begun preparing- they say,
"Just BRING it, world!" Want an entry blank? Download one for your
team here in either MS Office DOC format or Acrobat PDF format. You'll
also need to download, read, sign and submit the Code of Conduct with your
entry form. Just click

dying? What do they call Chinese food in China? What
about that WOOOW !! doubles tournament? Yeah, like I always say
it's my soap-box. Click on the links and read my comments.

Just thinking of what could be- I took a quick trip to PR.
and found some courts to practice on. Of course I had my trusty cam
and snapped off some pics! There could be a future for those courts if the
town could only see past their noses! Read my review and ideas- just follow
the link to More Courts.
-
Ready or not: Here they come! What? Millions of dollars or
improvements to Hollywood Beach and some of those dollars will go to improve
the Historic Courts and the surrounding areas. Read about them, see
artist's conceptions here.
-
Your roving computer/paddleball geek, out and about with his
digital camera was on the courts June 13th, 2005 evening and he's got the
pics to prove it! See some of the cool
people that hang out on the Historic Courts- click da link! Also,
coming soon to a Beach and Historic Courts near you: millions of dollars
worth of improvements! Read my comments.

You wanted pics?- You GOT 'em! Just click the link and wait for the page to

Hill- revisited.

If you've visited these pages recently, you may have noticed
the Guest Book page just freakin' out! That's all a result of my battle
against Spam-bots. The contents of the old guest book aren't affected- but
one can't add to the log as one used to- I can't leave the form open on the
web without it getting spammed again. Find the new Guest
Book here. I may have made a deal with the Devil by using this
guest-book- but as of this update, it looks safe and pretty cool, I may add.
It's in the Historic Courts' colors of dark green and buff, you can format
the text in your comments and even add smileys- one of my favorite
features! Please feel free to Email
me if you have any problems with it. Also- I added a quick button for those
of you who would like to return to this site- and I hope there are MANY of
you! Just click on the "Add this site to your favorites" up above
button to so, then just click OK.

Survey Results- Ok, so the Survey
page's not the hottest page here on the unofficial Historic Courts web site.
It's been up for going on a year and there's not that many entries- but
who's actually done the survey is the telling part. Take the Survey-
then go see the Survey Results- join in on
the fun!
-
Big Web.org? yeah, I've been pruning- you're not tripping!
Gone to the great web in the sky are the following pages and associated
photos: "The Qualifier 2004," "The
Challenge," "The Challenge Promo," "Holly-Wooden Paddle" and the "Viagara
Open." Those pages were over 1 year old. Please note these pages are
archived. If you'd like a copy of them on CD, Email
me.
-
Oh yeah!! March 12th
& 13th, regulars and guests
celebrated the Historic Courts' 75th Anniversary. There was music, contests
and cake for all and even dragons! Yep- see pics galore of Day
1 and Day 2- the day of the Garfield Street
All-Stars Tournament. Another case where you're gonna need patience- these
pages have lots of pics! Comments? Yeah, you can read my two cent's
worth if you want- just click da link!
-
"Old-School"
paddleball pics- what you'll see on this page is my attempt to try to
save some of them. Just who are those guys with the "Daisy
Duke" shorts and those cool tube socks? And those bikini babes? Do you
have any old pics of the Historic Courts and people there you'd like to see
featured on this website? I'd love to scan them and save them for our
grandkids to look at 50 years from now. Email
me or see me on the courts!
